This is how we celebrate the day of the Costa Rican abroad!

The Association of Friendship and Cooperation, Costa Rica-Luxembourg, organized for the first time the meeting of the Day of the Costa Rican Abroad. It was a day full of connection and culture that brought together the Costa Rican community living in the Grand Duchy. The event provided a space to share our stories, strengthen ties and reaffirm our identity outside Costa Rica, demonstrating that, regardless of the distance, the Costa Rican spirit and values always unite us.

During the activity, we enjoyed the presentation of the monologue Don't ask me why I came here, presented by the actress Marta Monge; gastronomy with typical flavors of our land; and demonstrations of coffee preparation using indigenous Costa Rican methods. There were also opportunities for conversation among the attendees, both Costa Ricans and other nationalities. The event also served as a platform to showcase Costa Rican business initiatives, as well as integration projects and mutual support. We had the valuable participation of H.E. Ambassador of Costa Rica to Belgium, the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg and the European Union, Mrs. Eliana Villalobos, as well as the Minister Counselor and Consul General to Belgium and the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, Mr. Adonai Arias, who provided the space to discuss the importance of strengthening ties between Costa Rica and Luxembourg, as well as the value of the Costa Rican diaspora in the Grand Duchy.

During the activity we also had a space for the children to share and play in a safe and fun environment.

This meeting marks a first step towards the consolidation of an active and organized Costa Rican community in Luxembourg. We are deeply grateful to all the people who participated, collaborated and believed in this initiative. We will continue working so that this celebration becomes an annual tradition, and so that our voice as a community has more and more presence in Luxembourg.
